Tom Parker, one-fifth of the Wanted, died after declaring in 2020 that he had brain cancer. He was 33 years old at the time. Parker died “peacefully earlier today with all of his family at his side,” according to his wife, Kelsey, who shared the news on Instagram. She shared the news with a picture of him and their two children. “Our hearts are devastated,” she said. “Tom was the center of our universe, and we can’t picture living without his contagious grin and vivacious presence.” Parker auditioned for The X-Factor and joined the Wanted in 2009 after a lengthy audition process.
During the Wanted’s sabbatical, Parker continued to perform, including a 2017 U.K. tour of Grease. He revealed his brain cancer diagnosis in 2020. He reunited with the Wanted for a greatest-hits CD the following year. The band’s first appearance after their hiatus was at a cancer benefit concert hosted by Parker. Tom Parker announced last November that his status was “stable” after receiving therapy for his brain tumor.
Parker took part in the Wanted’s European reunion tour earlier this month. Hope, the singer’s book, was set to be released on July 21st, according to an announcement made in March. He stated on Twitter, “This is not a book about dying.” “It’s a book about how to live.”
